The introduction of Lehrplan 21 encourages certain changes to how language skills are assessed in Swiss public schools and new report card models are being developed that support these changes. In describing what might be considered as “standards-based grading”, Christian Amsler provides an overview of the main considerations for classroom teachers as they plan their assessment practices.
