La langue de scolarisation dans la perspective d’une éducation plurilingue et interculturelle

4/2009Abstract
Within the general process tending to promote plurilingualism, the notion of plurilingual competence has recently been proposed and characterized as a capacity to mobilize the whole of the linguistic resources which a social agent possesses, including his first vernacular and the official/national language of schooling. However, from the viewpoint of plurilingual education, one has to query more precisely the place and role of the language of schooling with regard to the other languages and varieties in the educational system. This implies a more global and complex conception of plurilingual education, as related to educational values.
