Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to present a new development in language anxiety research, namely the distinction between majority language anxiety and heritage language anxiety. While the former can be particularly acute among first and second generation immigrants, the later becomes predominant among third generation immigrants, especially during visits to their home country. We focus on Turkish immigrants in the Netherlands.
