Abstract

In the project Plurilingual didactics as an opportunity for French as a second foreign language, foreign language teachers in Eastern Switzerland were teamed up with teacher educators for an action research and development project in their classrooms. The teachers designed and conducted activities with a specific plurilingual focus, while clearly aimed at enhancing their learners’ communicative competences in French. The background of the project are guidelines, proposed by the Council of Europe, to make language learning more coherent across the curriculum, and more worthwhile for a larger number of learners. A film for use in teacher education with a didactic commentary will result from the project.
